Christmas/ Year-End Team Escape

Our Board recently ( March 2026 ) held a
meeting at Timber Trail Lodge, and it was an outstanding experience. The
setting is peaceful and welcoming, which allowed everyone to relax and engage
openly. The private, well-equipped meeting space supported honest and productive
discussions, and we left with stronger relationships and clear decisions for
the future.The food was exceptional,
catering seamlessly for a wide range of dietary needs, and the staff were
simply outstanding — warm, professional, attentive and genuinely caring. From
the moment we arrived, they made everyone feel welcome and comfortable, which
created a safe and supportive environment for open sharing and collaboration.



The opportunity to walk or
ride in the forest, and to start the day with birdsong and coffee on the deck,
made the experience even more special. We would highly recommend Timber Trail
Lodge for any group wanting both productivity and connection in a truly unique
environment.

The Timber Trail Lodge offered our company a unique and private venue to facilitate our annual senior team retreat.

The goal was to combine team building and discussion of the company future objectives in a setting where we could relax and familiarise ourselves with our colleagues outside of the normal working environment. With over 30 people and 3 days, the event was a great success with the outcome well and truly achieved.

The Lodge team were very accommodating and played a pivotal role to making the retreat a success. The food was outstanding, rooms were well presented and comfortable and the overall venue very inviting and relaxing. We would not hesitate in recommending the Timber Trail Lodge for any Corporate event.

The Discover Waitomo leadership team stayed at the lodge in June 18 for a development workshop. The space was ideal for us (around 20 people), extremely comfortable and well-appointed with everything that we needed for both relaxation and work but what really made our visit was the manaaki of our hosts who cared for us whilst also demonstrating how proud they were of the lodge and its surroundings (which by the way was a fantastic spot even in winter). We will visit the lodge again and I would recommend it to any team or group looking for something special.

Our Region Leadership team thought we would try something a little different for our monthly team meeting, and travel into the Timber Trail Lodge. 

This turned out to be a fantastic decision. The live, eat and meet experience we had in one space was such a positive place to be to get the most out of our time together. The accommodation was great, the food was outstanding, and the atmosphere was indescribable, starting off with our first evening session in front of the fire set the scene for our meeting over the coming days.

We will be back to do this again as we found the combined offering such good value for our agenda and team development.
