Catch our evening shuttle into the Lodge and stay for two nights, giving you a relaxed start and more time to enjoy the journey. With accommodation, meals, shuttles and luggage transfers taken care of, you can focus on the trail.

Two night package - Itinerary

Day 1

4.00 pm Arrive at our transport depot in Ōngarue, ready for departure. Please make sure your e-bike is fully charged for the following day.

4.30 pm Catch our evening shuttle to Timber Trail Lodge with your luggage and bike.

On arrival, check into your room and settle in before dinner.

7.00 pm Dinner is served in the Lodge dining room. Please let us know about any dietary requirements before your stay.

Timber Trail accommodation and shuttles.

Day 2

From 7.00 am, continental breakfast is available, with cooked breakfast from 7.30 am.

8.30 am Shuttle from the Lodge to Pureora to begin the northern section of the Timber Trail.

Around 9.30 am Begin the 40 km ride back to Timber Trail Lodge.

Ride through ancient native forest, over suspension bridges and around the slopes of Mount Pureora before descending towards Piropiro and the Lodge.

On arrival, enjoy a hot shower and complimentary pizza, then relax with a drink from the bar. If you still have some energy, the Rātā Loop Walk starts directly from the Lodge and makes an easy late-afternoon option.

7.00 pm Dinner is served in the Lodge dining room.

Day 3

From 7.00 am, continental breakfast is available, with cooked breakfast from 7.30 am.

Check out of your room and leave your luggage with us for transfer back to Ōngarue.

Depart in your own time to ride the 45 km southern section of the Timber Trail, including the Maramataha Suspension Bridge, historic bush tramways and the Ōngarue Spiral.

At Bennett Road, take the optional shuttle back to our transport depot in Ōngarue or ride the final couple of kilometres by road.

Please check in with our team when you arrive so we know you are safely off the trail.

Great weekend doing the Timber Trail, 2 nights at the Timber Trail Lodge worked perfectly. Fantastic local knowledge and stories from Rob in the shuttle, Kia Ora Rob! Accommodation is superb, clean and comfortable rooms, great food after a good days MTB riding and a beer or 2 from the bar. Locally owned and operated with great stewardship of local environment and land. Thoroughly recommended!

Drive to the start and we'll take care of the rest

Let us transfer your vehicle from the start of the trail at Pureora Village to the end of the trail at Ongarue, where it will be securely parked at our shuttle base.
