The Timber Trail

The 85-kilometre Timber Trail winds through the heart of Pureora Forest, following historic logging roads and tramlines, flowing singletrack and some of New Zealand’s most spectacular suspension bridges.
Ancient native forest, rich cultural and logging heritage, and an overnight stay near the middle of the trail combine to create an experience unlike any other Great Ride.
Best known as a mountain-bike trail, it also offers walkers and trail runners a rewarding journey through a remarkable part of Aotearoa.
