Terms of Service


Timber Trail Adventures Ltd (the Operator) makes all arrangements for Timber Trail Lodge on the condition that it shall not be liable for any sickness, injury, damage, loss, accident, delay or irregularity which may be occasioned, either directly or indirectly, by reason of any defect in any part of its buildings, equipment, operation or service, by weather, by any other cause, or through acts of default of a company or person engaged in hosting guests, or in carrying out arrangements for these activities.

Reservations and payments

Payment in full is required at the time of booking.

Payment is preferred by direct credit into our bank account but we accept Visa, MasterCard and personal cheques. Credit card payments will incur a 2% surcharge. If these methods of payment are not suitable, please make contact with us to discuss other options. All payments must be cleared into Timber Trail Adventures Ltd’s accounts before a booking is deemed confirmed.

If you make payment via a debit to your nominated credit card, the amount debited at the time of booking confirmation will be in New Zealand dollars (inclusive of New Zealand Goods and Services Tax) on the booking page prior to you clicking “make payment” on that page. The deposit may be converted to your local currency by your credit card company. Depending upon the currency of the booking, your credit card’s currency and the country in which your card was issued, your credit card provider may impose foreign exchange fees and other fees in accordance with your arrangements with that credit card provider. We are not responsible for currency conversion or any fees imposed by your credit card provider and any questions relating to such matters should be directed to them.

Should any foreign bank account bank fees be incurred by Timber Trail Adventures Ltd in refunding any payment; such fees will be passed directly on to the relevant customer(s).

Cancellations and refunds

All cancellations must be made in writing and sent to stay@timbertraillodge.co.nz or

Cancellation fees for all adventures are charged on the following basis per person:

Within 24 hours of booking arrival date: 100% of booking is forfeited

Within 1 – 20 days of booking arrival date: booking able to be transferred to another booking within 6 months of booking date.

Prior to 21 days of booking arrival date: your payment is refunded in full.

We suggest that you consider purchasing travel insurance.

These cancellation fees are not negotiable, therefore we strongly recommend that you purchase travel insurance.

Medical Conditions

If you or any member of your party have any medical condition, disability or food intolerance at the time of booking and/or at any other time until the completion of your stay with us which may affect your participation, please tell us so we can advise you of the suitability of your plans. If we reasonably feel unable to properly accommodate the particular needs of the person concerned, we must reserve the right to decline the booking.

Participants Responsibility

All guests have a responsibility to abide by the rules and directions of the owners of Timber Trail Lodge. Participants must obey the instructions of the staff at all times. Equally if a guest causes damage to Timber Trail Adventuires property or that of any third party we reserve the right to terminate their stay and we will be under no further liability for refunds or in meeting any costs incurred as a result.

By contracting to be our guest, you are expressly assuming all the risks and responsibilities of participation and are, to the maximum extent permitted by law releasing Timber Trail Adventures Ltd, its officers, employees, directors, agents and any other person associated with us, from any liability, claims, loss, damages or expenses (whatsoever and irrespective of whether direct, indirect or consequential) caused by any event including but not limited to: personal injury or death; property loss or damage; acts which may be construed as negligible or accidental; any other loss, damage, suffering, emotional or nervous disorder suffered by you or any other person in relation to this activity booked on or via this website. You accept that you have been advised to obtain adequate travel insurance for all persons named on the booking. You accept that all persons named on the booking are aware of and are bound by the following:

My successors, executors and administrators are bound by the Terms and Conditions;

I agree not to commence any litigation proceedings in any country in relation to the risks and liabilities set out above and to indemnify the Operator against any claims;

I confirm and warrant I suffer no medical conditions, which may affect my ability to participate in the activity;

I consent to receive medical treatment in the case of injury, accident or illness during the activity and to indemnify the Operator against any claims, costs or expenses in respect of the treatment;

I agree that any film, sound, video or other recordings taken of or during my stay will not be used in any production, or advertising without prior consent of the Operator, however the Operator may use such recordings itself at its complete discretion without any prior approval.

I agree to listen to and co-operate with my host and the staff of Timber Trail Adventures Ltd, follow their instructions and make sure any children in my care do the same.

I agree that I will not cause offence, distress, danger or annoyance to other guests.

Activities Not Permitted

The consumption of alcohol may only be done under the supervision of the lodge Duty Manager, within the designated areas defined by the lodge’s alcohol license. Guests may not bring their own alcohol onto the premises. We reserve the right to refuse accommodation and service should any person be in what Timber Trail Lodge staff consider to be a state of intoxication. All people under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult or guardian within restricted areas as defined by the alcohol license.

Changes to Terms and Conditions

The Operator reserves the right to change these Terms and Conditions at any time without notifying customers. Any future bookings you may make will be made subject to the Terms and Conditions which apply at the time a booking is made and you are advised to read all the Terms and Conditions carefully on each occasion prior to making a booking.

Governing Law

This website and all component parts, including these Terms and Conditions are governed exclusively by the laws of New Zealand and you agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Courts of New Zealand.

Feedback

Timber Trail Adventures Ltd hopes you always have positive things to say about your stay and our service. However in the event that you have any complaints, we would like to find out about it immediately. Please bring any comments to our attention to allow us to resolve the matter.

The Timber Trail Lodge is situated at Piropiro, which is accessed via Koromiko Road and Ongarure Stream Road on the west side of Pureora Forest Park.


If you are coming from the north (Auckland, Hamilton etc) come via Te Kuiti and follow State Highway 30 towards Benneydale.

If you are coming from the east (Rotorua, Taupo etc) also follow State Highway 30 via Benneydale.

Turn off SH30 onto Poro-0-tarao Rd towards Waimiha. Drive 15km then turn left on to Ongarue Stream Rd.

If you are coming from the south come via Taumarunui, and turn off State Highway 4 towards Ongarue on the Ongarue-Waimiha Rd. Drive about 20km, past the small town of Waimiha, and turn right onto Ongarue Stream Rd.

Continue on Ongarue Stream Rd for 6km, then right onto Koromiko Rd which will take you to Piropiro. Once you get on to the gravel road you have another 15km on narrow winding road to Piropiro so please drive carefully.

When you get to Piropiro drive through the camping area and turn right.

Follow the signs to the lodge.
